RIYADH: The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) said it will allow mothers to open bank accounts on behalf of their children, so long as they are minors.
SAMA said in a circular on its website it is keen to contribute to empowering maternal clients to manage their children’s affairs. Children’s account will be in the name of the minor but a subsidiary of the mother’s account .

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced 11 deaths from COVID-19 and 1,215 new infections on Friday.
Of the new cases, 345 were recorded in Riyadh, 324 in Makkah, 145 in the Eastern Province, 96 in Madinah, 80 in Asir, 64 in Jazan, 35 in Tabuk, 23 in Najran, 21 in Hail, 17 in Al-Baha, six in the Northern Borders region and four in Al-Jouf.
The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 429,663 after 1,161 more patients recovered from the virus.
A total of 7,320 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.
Over 13.6 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.
